Finally.........FINALLY, I invented a recipe of my own and to my great surprise and pleasure, it came out well. I have written out the procedure here.
Ingredients for Beetroot curry 2 people :
1 large Beet root
1 large onion
2 garlic cloves
a small chunk of cinnamon or a teaspoon of cinnamon powder
5 or 6 Cloves
powdered cardamom – half teaspoon
1 green chilli
Dhaniya - 1 tablespoon
Cumin – a pinch
Yogurt – Half cup
Salt – to taste
A few leaves of coriander for garnishing.
Grate the Beetroot and keep it aside. Chop onions finely and keep them aside.
Heat up a pan and add oil in it. Add the cumin and finely chopped onions and let them fry until the onions become translucent. Add the grated Beetroot and a bit of salt and keep the contents in the pan well mixed.
Crush the garlic, cinnamon, dhaniya, cloves, green chilli and yogurt together. Once the beet root starts softening, add this paste to it, add some salt and keep a lid on the pan to keep it closed.
Let it cook for about 15 minutes on medium flame and garnish it wish chopped coriander leaves on top.
This goes well with any kind of a roti.
